Standing section between D1 and D2 (Seisomakatsomo) is a good place for away team supporters with banners and flags. If you prefer sitting, D1 and D2 are excellent choices. Naturally, you are welcome to have a ticket in any section.
Tappara plays their home games in Hakametsä Icehall (read more from Wikipedia), the same arena as their local rival team Ilves. The arena seats 7300 spectators. The location of the arena is about three kilometres from the center of Tampere and the railway station. The city buses numbers 3, 17, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29, 32, 47 drive close to the arena. The address used in different online map services is Keltinkatu 2.
Parking costs 5€ at the parking lot. You can buy the parking tickets from the ticket booth at the arena.

The game starts 6.30pm at working days and 5pm on Saturdays.
Tappara souvenirs, game jerseys, scarfs, etc. are sold in Tappara Office, located in Kissanmaankatu 9 in Tampere. There is also a shop in Hakametsä arena open during home games. Some sports stores in Tampere also carry Tappara merchandise. You can also buy Tappara products online from the Tappara webstore. Unfortunately, the webstore only works in Finnish. The hockey club Tappara originates from TBK, Tammerfors Boll Klubb, which was founded in 1932. TBK promoted to the top Finnish hockey level in 1942, and won three national championships until the club’s hockey section changed its name to Tappara in 1955.
Since the season 1955-56 until today Tappara has been playing in the highest level of hockey in Finland, except for the season 1965-66 when the team had a brief visit in the lower level after ending up in the last place in the league the season before. Tappara returned to the top league a year after it was relegated.
Tappara have won 14 Finnish championships with the predecessor TBK adding another three titles. The latest national championships for Tappara have come in 2017 and 2016. The other championship years are 2003, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1984, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1975, 1964, 1961, 1959, and TBK’s 1955, 1954 and 1953.
Tappara’s hockey operations are lead by Tamhockey Oy, which was founded in 1999. The Chairman of the Board is Heikki Penttilä. The board members are Sirkka Hagman, Tommy Westerberg, Ari Penttilä, Jouni Oja, Pasi Näkki, Ronald Grönlund and Antti Peltonen.
